Full-Time Work Experience
August 2004 – Present: Packaging and Recycling Engineer/Mechanical Engineer, Department of Research and Development, Punch|Graphix, Lier, BE - Design and develop Xeikon, BasysPrint, and Punch|Graphix packaging. - Create release procedures for the packaging and generate guidelines for its design and implementation using software such as Pro/E Wildfire 2, SAP, and MS Access. - Complete follow-up of the manufacturing and testing of packaging materials. - Determine costs of packaging production. - Apply a methodological approach towards the packaging design process, incorporating the current (mechanical) design and release process. - Assist R&D/Mechanical department with designing and releasing new products.
December 2003 – April 2004: Designer; Design Office, GOODS Sempels, Antwerp, BE - Designed, developed, constructed, and arranged exhibitions at Antwerp Zoo and Animalpark Planckendaal. - Complete paperwork and communicate with the European Union and Belgian government for subsidization of educational panels and signalization in the zoo. - Designed and developed small product ideas for Marlux using SolidWorks 2003 and 3D Studio Max.
Side Projects
April 2005 – Present: Designer; Tim Biesemans Ligfietsen, Recumbent bicycle developer, Kapellen, BE - Co-designed a frame for a 4-wheeled recumbent utility bike and developed a variation on it’s use in the form of a “party bike” (barbecue, sound installation, space for drinks,etc) - Design of several banners for the business used as promotional material - Design of the logo/style of the “Roadie”, a cheap recumbent bicycle for the rental market.

August 2002 Internship Designer; ParsProToto, Ghent, BE - Design and development of various ideas, including street structures (tree protectors, benches, fences, etc.), a means of transport for small pets, and promotional items for Duracell batteries.

Main Projects
October 2002 - June 2003 BC-Modular Lab - Designed a mobile, modular lab for chemical and biological research to be used as a preventative and emergency research unit.
January 2003 - June 2003 CAD Software voor Ontwerpers (CAD for Designers) - Compared various CAD programs (SolidWorks 2003, Pro/E Wildfire, AutoDeskInventor, ThinkDesign 8, and Alias Wavefront ) for possible use in design education.
September 1997 - June 1998 De Stad Ontwikkeld (The City Developed) - Researched and studied city planning throughout history, focusing on European cities, and including a study of future city structural designs.
September 1996 -June 1997 De Electrische Auto en Hybride (Electric Vehicles and Hybrids) - Researched and studied electric and hybrid vehicles, including best battery-electric motor combination, the most important hybrid combinations, and alternative ways of saving energy consumption in vehicles.
